This magical evening will feature music by Kurt Weill, Cole Porter, George Gershwin and more, as well as festive favourites and carols for everyone’s taste, in a mesmerizing performance. The acclaimed soprano is joined by a jazz band led by British musical director and pianist Dom Barlow.

London-based opera singer Katerina Mina is a British spinto soprano of Greek-Cypriot origin. Katerina studied at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, having received full scholarships from the City of London Corporation and the A. G. Leventis Foundation. She is a prize-winner at two International Singing Competitions, the Julián Gayarre International Singing Competition and Concorso Vocale Internazionale di Musica Sacra, as well as the winner of the opera nominees on the 1st Edition of Future Classic Women Awards 2019 organised by Women’s Radio Station in London. In March 2021, Katerina received the Stockholm Culture Awards Medal in the category of Opera and performed at the House of Nobility for the Royal Family and distinguished guests.
An experienced soloist, Katerina enjoys a very busy schedule on the concert and opera platforms in the UK, Europe, South America, the Middle East, and Far-East, where she excels in the repertoire of the verismo composers. She has performed in recent years with well-known orchestras at internationally renowned venues, including, amongst others, the Cadogan Hall, London’s Southbank Centre, Hackney Empire, St John’s Smith Square, St Martin-in-the-Fields, St James’s Piccadilly, Shrewsbury Abbey, Sheldonian Theatre, Buxton Opera House,Leicester’s De Montfort Hall and Northampton’s Royal and Derngate Theatre. European engagements have taken her to Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Paris, Zagreb, Moscow, Florence, Athens, Tenerife, Ancona, and Cyprus.
A versatile artist, Katerina appeared as a special guest in Rick Wakeman’s symphonic concert at the Queen Elizabeth Hall. She was also the main soloist during the closing ceremony of the International Festival of Astronomy STARMUS 2014, performing music by Alexandros Hahalis, alongside theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking and cosmonaut Alexey Leonov. Following an official invitation by UNESCO, Katerina performed songs by British songwriter Linda Lamon, especially commissioned for the opening and closing sessions of the inauguration ceremony of the International Day of Light at UNESCO’s Headquarters in Paris. Katerina’s passion for singing has led her to record a new CD Album with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor Grzegorz Nowak. The CD with the title, Angel of Fire, has officially been released by the Orchestra’s Record Label.
