Written by one of the most successful contemporary Cypriot playwrights, Costas Mannouris, and directed and performed by award-winning actor and director Marios Mettis, “The Dukes Radio Show” was presented by the Cyprus High Commission in the United Kingdom on May 24 at the Cockpit Theatre in London.
In this “vivacious tragicomic musical, brimming with rich vivid colors and euphoric mood”, Gideon Dukas, performed by Mettis, on account of a weekly radio show, embarks on an unbridled narration untethered by time and space. In the jovial confines of surrealism, the Larnacian magnate transcends into child-like joy while journeying through the fringes of imagination, fairy tale and the unhindered revocation of adulthood.
The show was performed in Greek with surtitles in English and was enjoyed by an international audience.
