On March 29th, Toula was presented at Theatro Technis, bringing to life the remarkable story of Cypriot artist Toula Liasi. This deeply moving performance explored themes of resilience, displacement, and artistic perseverance, resonating with both Cypriot and British audiences in London.
Through a powerful solo performance by Elena Agathokleous, the production illuminated the struggles and triumphs of a woman who, against all odds, remained dedicated to her craft and identity. Under the direction of Diomedes Koufteros, Toula blended theatre, visual storytelling, and evocative lighting to create an immersive experience. The carefully crafted lighting design by Andy Konstantinou and the striking video projections by Volume Films further enriched the emotional depth of the story.
The event was warmly received by a diverse audience, reflecting the continued interest in Cypriot storytelling within the UK. Theatro Technis, with its longstanding commitment to cultural and diasporic narratives, provided the perfect stage for this intimate and compelling performance.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Theatro Technis for hosting this event and to everyone who attended and supported this celebration of Cypriot artistry. Special thanks to photographer Giorgos Othonos (@othonosgiorgos) for capturing the essence of the night.
